Breckinridge County Resource Fair aims to connect residents with services and organizations

Breckinridge County residents are invited to come learn about programs and services available to themselves and their families at the Breckinridge County Resource Fair, to be held Tuesday, September 15th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Breckinridge County Fairgrounds Merchants Building.

“I think we have 27 (organizations) signed up at this time, but that number’s going to continue to grow,” said CommuniCare Certified Prevention Specialist Andrea Sheroan.

The resource fair will feature organizations focused on issues such as housing, food, healthcare, mental health, and more.

“So a lot of times, Breckinridge County is so rural that there’s services in other counties but they’re not aware that they actually cover Breckinridge County as well, so bringing those people to make them aware about it is just really important,” Sheroan said.

No registration is required to attend.

“The first 100 people can get lunch or dinner, and the blood bank will be there, so if they wanted to donate any blood they could do that,” Sheroan said.

Registration is still open for vendors. Visit the Breckinridge County Coalition for Change Facebook page for more information.
