Nolin RECC Bringing ‘Who Powers You’ Contest to Community

Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, including Nolin RECC, are bringing back the ‘Who Powers You’ contest to local communities.

This contest highlights co-op members who are making a positive impact on their communities. Someone in Kentucky will win $1,000. 

Past winners included a tennerage who worked to donate bags to kids in foster care, a man who supported local law enforcement with counseling services and a woman who created a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing displaced animals. 

The contest is open to Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives’ members only. To nominate someone, visit WhoPowersYouKY.com. Winners will be announced in mid-November.

Missing Juvenile Out of Nelson County

Nelson County is asking for the public’s help in locating a reported missing juvenile. 14 year-old 5’5 Dwight Bednara, also commonly referred to as Conner Windham was last seen wearing an orange and blue plaid button down shirt, blue jeans and red shoes. He was last seen in the Bertram Court area around 4:30 this morning.Anyone with information is asked to contact Nelson County Dispatch, 502-348-3211.

East Hardin Middle School to Open October 18th


Hardin County Schools has announced the new East Hardin Middle will be ready and open to students starting Monday, October 18, 2021. In order for teachers and other staff to prepare for this transition, EHMS students will have a “learn at home day” on Friday, October 15, 2021.

It is important to note that phones or email may not be available on that Friday as staff members will be preparing the classrooms and other areas to use on the following Monday.

The “learn at home” day will be for East Hardin Middle School students only.

Students will have the opportunity to tour the new school on Thursday, October 14th.
