BlueOval SK Ground Breaking Ceremony

Governor Andy Beshear is set to be at the BlueOval SK Battery park this morning to celebrate the progress of the plant. The event begins at 10 am at the BlueOval SK Battery park in Glendale. The 5.8-billion-dollar plant is on-schedule to begin production in 2025 and will be creating 5000 new jobs. The celebration will be live streamed on the Ford Motor Company’s YouTube channel.

Juvenile Charged with Murder

A juvenile was arrested for murder over the weekend. Kentucky State Police, Trooper First Class, Scotty Sharp stated, “On Dec. 3, 2022, at approximately 4:53 a.m., KSP was contacted by the Hodgenville Police Department requesting assistance with an assault investigation near 116 E. Forest Ave in Hodgenville. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, both males, got into an alteration leading to the 17-year-old being shot.“ The 17-year-old was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and died. The 15-year-old was charged and is currently being lodged in the Adair County Juvenile Detention Center. Additionally, the 17-year-old who passed away was a student at Larue County High School. The school system stated there will be grief counselors from green river regional education cooperative available to students and teachers for as long as needed.

Elizabethtown Christmas Events

The City of Elizabethtown is holding several Christmas related events. This Saturday is the annual Christmas Parade, the route starts at St. John Road and travels south on Dixie Highway before ending at the square in Downtown Elizabethtown. The parade begins at 5 pm and will be followed by a reading of the night before Christmas by Mayor Geoff Gregory, as well as carols and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Meade County Man Arrested

A man wanted for multiple felonies in Meade County, Breckinridge County, and Harrison County Indiana was arrested yesterday. Randall Greenwell Jr was on the run since early last week. For more information visit the Meade County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

City of Elizabethtown Approves sale of City Property

The City of Elizabethtown has approved the sale of a property on College Street. The property is located at 226 College Street, it was sold to H.C. Real Estate USA Inc. The real estate arm of Kruger Incorporated. Kruger intends to build apartment buildings with up to 125 units, a community area and a swimming pool. The prospective apartment will be targeted as workforce residences for the Kruger Packaging Plant located in Elizabethtown, however, the apartments will be available to the public. The property was sold for 750,000 dollars.
