Praise & Shine 51: Dancing Before The Lord

A number of years ago, a man and his wife, Carolyn, visited a small church where during the worship service a woman began to dance in the aisle. She was soon joined by others. Carolyn and her husband looked at each other and an unspoken agreement passed between them: “not me!” They came from church traditions that favor a serious liturgy, and this other form of worship was well beyond their comfort zone.

This year going back to school will be one of the most difficult in recent memory for students and staff alike as thy find themselves returning to instruction amidst a pandemic, the likes of which we haven’t seen in over 100 years. For the next several weeks we will be talking with superintendents from our area school districts to hear from them about how their districts plan to return to school. To start off our multi week series we talked with Nick Carter, superintendent of Breckenridge County Schools.

Mindful Minute: Treasures

Our treasures and priorities can easily be misplaced and we can find ourselves devoting our time, finances, phone calls and acts of service into treasures that do not last. Matthew 6:19 says, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.”
