Meade County Employment Opportunity Fair offers second-chance jobs and resources

Employers from Meade County and the surrounding area will be on hand for the Meade County Employment Opportunity Fair, to be held at the Meade County Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.

Meade County Public Library Young Adult and Children’s Programmer Destiney Amiott said the Opportunity Fair, which the library is hosting in partnership with the Kentucky Career Center Lincoln Trail, will feature employers discussing current employment opportunities, with some conducting on-site interviews.

“We also are going to have community resources that are organizations in the community who help people find jobs, help people with interviews, help people with a variety of things that they may not have access to,” Amiott said.

The Opportunity Fair will also feature free headshots as well as a presentation on expungement of records as the fair is focused on second-chance opportunities.

“This Opportunity Fair is about everybody in the community finding a role that fits their needs, and we do have members of the community who have needs that are a little bit more complex due to prior history,” Amiott said.

The Opportunity Fair is free to attend. Participants should dress professionally and attend with updated resumes. Slots are still available for employers to attend. Contact Amiott at the library to reserve a table.
