The deadline for teachers in Hardin and LaRue Counties to apply for Nolin RECC’s Operation Round-Up Be a Light Teacher Grants is approaching.
According to Nolin RECC, certified teachers in kindergarten through 12th grade in Hardin and LaRue counties are welcome to apply. $200 grants will be awarded to forty eligible teachers. Twenty grants will be awarded to elementary school teachers, ten to middle school teachers, and ten to high school teachers.
“The Operation Round-Up board established these grants as a way of honoring and recognizing local teachers and everything they give back to our community,” said Nolin RECC Communications Manager Sarah Fellows.
Money from the grants comes from Operation Round-Up, which is a voluntary program for co-op members who choose to have their bill rounded up to the nearest dollar amount each month, with the rounded-up money going into a fund to make a direct impact in the community. The board launched the Be a Light Teacher Grants in 2022.
The deadline to apply is August 31. Visit www.nolinrecc.com or visit the co-op’s office to complete the application.
