Grayson County Sheriff’s Office investigating communications wiring thefts

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in an ongoing investigation of multiple thefts involving Kinetic communications wiring.

According to the sheriff’s office, numerous complaints have been received over the past several weeks regarding communications lines being cut, damaged, or removed. The sheriff’s office began working with Kinetic representatives, local scrap yards, and other law enforcement partners to identify suspects in the case.

The sheriff’s office says stolen communications wire was being stripped and sold as scrap copper. Information obtained led to a suspect being interviewed, and investigators obtained information linking the suspect with multiple theft incidents.

The suspect, who has not been identified by the sheriff’s office as the investigation is ongoing, was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on multiple charges including Theft and Criminal Mischief. The sheriff’s office asks residents to report any suspicious activity.
