Former E’town Pharmacy Pays $100,000 As a Result of Improper Controlled Substance Records Allegations

A former Elizabethtown retail pharmacy is facing penalties as a result of improper controlled substance record allegations.

Century Medicines of Elizabethtown has agreed to pay $100,000 to settle claims from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a result of not satisfying recordkeeping requirements of the Controlled Substance Act (CSA). This act helps to ensure that all controlled substances are properly accounted for.

According to the settlement agreement, between 2016 and 2020, Century Medicines was unable to account for approximately 85,000 hydrocodone and oxycodone tablets.

The $100,000 payment will settle all claims related to the alleged conduct.

Century Medicines of Elizabethtown is no longer in operation.
