Boos’ and Brews’ Event

The Boos and Brews Karaoke Halloween party will be held tonight on Fort Knox. Fort Knox Garrison Commander, Colonel Lance O’Bryan stated, “Head over to Sam Adams brew house for the boos and brews karaoke Halloween party. Grab you a burger, grab you a brew, dress up. There will be a costume contest that starts at ten. Even more fun than that will be singing your favorite Halloween themed tunes.” The event will be held from 7 pm to midnight. CASA of the Heartland Mural

Casa of the heartland is unveiling a mural next week. The mural will be unveiled next Thursday, November third, at the casa of the heartland building in Elizabethtown from 8 to 11 am. Executive director Norma Hatfield stated, “We got a grant through the fort Knox spouses community club, which allowed us to do this. We are so excited that folks are going to see a little more about the kiddos that we serve, since we can’t show their faces. For me, what i like to think about is that, whenever anyone walks in or out of the office, it serves as a reminder that these kids leave an imprint on our hearts and minds.” The mural consists of hand prints of local children served by the organization. Casa purpose with this is, to help raise awareness of child abuse and neglect in Hardin County.

Sportsplex Spooktacular 2022

The Sportsplex Spooktacular is this weekend. It will be held tomorrow from 2 to 5 pm at the Sportsplex in Elizabethtown. General Manager of the Bluegrass Sportsplex, Dustin Shepherd stated, “This is going to be a wonderful, free family and community event. We will have games, inflatables and yes, a ton of candy. We will also have concessions and Dewsters homemade ice cream, available for purchase during the event. Elizabethtown High School Volleyball Team is Headed to the State Tournament

The Elizabethtown High School Volleyball Team is advancing to the State Tournament. Elizabethtown volleyball coach Bart Catlett stated, “I think we are trending upward and I hope we have a little bit more in the tank, because we are going to need it. I’d like to think we are getting better in the end. We play a very tough schedule and we hope that parlays into the rest of the season for us.” Last night, they beat Central Hardin High School three to one to move on. Elizabethtown Police Foundation has Received a 20,000 Dollar Donation

The Elizabethtown Police Foundation received a donation on Tuesday. Public Relations Officer for the Elizabethtown Police Department, Chris Denham stated, “Our police foundation received a very generous, 20,000 dollar donation from the Schaffrick family yesterday. Their family continues to be one of our biggest supporters and we are beyond grateful. This donation will be used to procure a state of the art driving simulator for the department.” The driving simulator will be the first of its kind in this region.
