On June 1st three individuals were caught and arrested for taking multiple items from the Lowes store in Elizabethtown. . The three suspects were identified as Mohammed Fathi, Najad Qumane, and Haji Kehylani. All three are from Louisville, they also have previous warrants from around the state including some from Elizabethtown. These thefts include thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise. an investigation revealed that they were reselling these items for cash. All three subjects are charged with felony shoplifting and engaging in organized crime. They also face multiple warrants and charges from other cases as well. They are currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center

A golf scramble benefiting the military will take place this Friday on Fort Knox. Registration is at the lindsay golf course, if you are active duty below E6 or reserved you pay a flat $40 for early sign up or $45 for day of sign up. If you are E6 or above or a civilian you pay $65 for early sign up and $70 for day of. Proceeds will go to help the soldiers and their families.
A staple of Elizabethtown is making a comeback. The Charles B. Logsdon historic downtown walking tour will be brought back for its 33rd year. Starting this Thursday, June 3rd, at 7 pm and continuing every Thursday up until September you can learn more about the history of Elizabethtown. The tour was canceled last year due to Covid. According to the Nelson County Sheriffs Office, 56 year old Stephen Haynies held his girlfriend and two others against their will for several hours in a bathroom on Memorial day. This led to Hayines allegedly shooting his his girlfriend in the leg. He was then arrested and charged with 1st degree assault and domestic violence. The investigation is still ongoing.
