A Vehicle Pursuit Occurred in Larue County

A vehicle pursuit took place in Larue County this weekend. On Saturday, a vehicle that was being pursued by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office entered Larue County, where Hodgenville Police Department began assisting in the pursuit.  According to the Police Department, the suspects’ vehicle became disabled and stopped near Dangerfield Road. The driver subsequently exited the vehicle and fled on foot before being apprehended and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.

Gettysburg Address Anniversary

A special ceremony is being held this weekend to honor the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. The ceremony, a memorial building illumination, is taking place this coming Saturday, at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park in Larue County. This year marks the 159th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. The event begins at 7 pm and is free and open to the public. Sex Offender Arrested in Grayson County

A sex offender was arrested in Grayson County over the weekend. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received information on a non-compliant sex offender late Saturday evening. Sheriff Norman Chaffins stated, “Once we received the tip, we responded to a residence on Tilford Lane In Falls of Rough. Where we encountered Russell Cook, we confirmed he was listed as a sex offender, however, he failed to notify probation and parole and the Kentucky State Police of his address change. There was an active warrant for his arrest and he was arrested without incident.” He is currently being lodged at the Grayson County Detention Center.

Orchard Coming to Elizabethtown

City Council approved plans for a community orchard in Elizabethtown. Last night, at the Elizabethtown City Council meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a community orchard at the nature park was approved. The MOU approved a space of up to 2.5 acres in the nature park to be used for the orchard. The park should be complete by December of next year.

Man Hit by Car on I-65

A man was struck and killed over the weekend. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office received a call, in relation to a man acting erratic in the 900 block of Springfield Road on Saturday night. A deputy arrived on scene, and observed the man jump over the I-65 fence. Hardin County 911 soon received a call of a man struck on the southbound lane of I-65. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the road was shut down for approximately an hour. The investigation is ongoing.
