James T. Alton Middle School has current assistant principal Allison Scherer as the school’s new principal. She is a North Hardin High School graduate, and has taught at the schools that feed JTA. She is a part of the JTA family and is heavily involved in the community. She is the right candidate to carry on the pride and tradition of excellence of JT Alton,” Community Relations Specialist John Wright said. Scherer replaces Kevin Estes who left JTA before the school year started. Jennifer Lewis has been the interim principal at JTA between Estes’ departure and Scherer’s appointment.
