Traffic Stop Leads To Discovery of Marijuana

A Sunday night traffic stop on I-65 led to the discovery of 17 pounds of marijuana.

“At approximately 9 p.m., Kentucky State Police Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car in Elizabethtown. The vehicle was stopped on the I-65 southbound exit ramp at the 94 mile-marker for traffic violations. During the stop, troopers observed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle being driven by Michael Davis Jr., age 31 of Pembroke Pines, California. During a search of the vehicle, approximately 17 pound of suspected marijuana was located,” stated Trooper First Class Scotty Sharp. Davis was arrested and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana 1st Offense, and multiple other traffic violations.

E’town Partners with Feeding America for Mobile Food Pantry

The city of Elizabethtown is partnering with Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland today for a mobile food pantry. 

“This is made possible through a Community Development Block Grant. We partner with different agencies and community partners here in Elizabethtown. Feeding America is one of those awesome community partners that we have. So, today, between 9 and 11, out at the Haycraft, all you have to do, if you live in the city of Elizabethtown and you need food, you just drive through here,” stated Public Relations Spokesperson Amy Inman. This is a drive-thru event in which volunteers will place food boxes in your vehicle. No I.D. or paperwork is necessary to receive a food box.

Radcliff Man Arrested After High Speed Vehicle Pursuit

A Radcliff man has been arrested after a high-speed vehicle pursuit that occurred late Saturday evening. 

Units with the Kentucky State Police Post 4 attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle who failed to stop at a traffic light in Elizabethtown.

“The pursuit left E’town down Kentucky 210 into Hodgenville before turning onto Lincoln Parkway and then onto U.S. 31E before entering Nelson County. The pursuit ended near the community of New Haven on Dee Head Road, after the operator crashed after losing control of the motorcycle. The operator, Alexander Morgan, 23, was taken into custody and charged with numerous traffic violations,” stated State Trooper First Class Scotty Sharp. 

This investigation is still ongoing.

One Dead After Fort Knox On-Post Incident

A man was shot and killed on the Fort Knox Post over the weekend.

Fort Knox Police initially responded to a call of a suspicious person near the Visitor Center. When officers arrived, the 41-year-old, non-military affiliated man fled by vehicle onto the Fort Knox military reservation. Three officers pursued the man in their patrol cars. The pursuit ended just east of the main cantonment area (the city portion of Fort Knox). Officers tried to deescalate the situation when the man attempted to ram and run over the officers. The man was then shot by Fort Knox Police, and pronounced deceased early Sunday morning. The officers involved are on paid leave, pending an administrative investigation.

At this time, there is no indication that this was an extremist or terrorist-related incident. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time, and the investigation is ongoing by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division.
