American Red Cross: Emergency Blood and Platelet Shortage

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood and platelet shortage. The national Red Cross blood inventory is the lowest it has been at this time of the year since 2015, with less than a day’s supply of certain blood types in recent weeks. 

The Pritchard Community Center will host a blood drive this Wednesday, September 29th from 12 to 5. You can help by making an appointment to donate at RedCrossBlood.org.

Kentucky State Police Arrest Larue County Man for Murder

Kentucky State Police have arrested a Larue County Man for Murder.

“Kentucky State Police received information of a possible body buried on a property near the Buffalo community of Larue County. After an extensive investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence near the 500 block of Corinth Road by KSP on Friday, September 24th. Detectives located the remains of an unidentified person found buried underneath a large pile of debris in the backyard of the residence. KSP detectives charged David Puyear, age 59 of Buffalo, with murder and he was lodge in the Larue Co. jail,” stated Trooper First Class Scotty Sharp.

The remains have been transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for positive identification and examination. More charges could be forthcoming as the investigation is still ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 4 detectives.

Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Seeking to Identify Damaging Vehicle

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying a vehicle who caused severe damage in Glendale.Around 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 25th, a semi pulling an extended low boy trailer caused damage to the train crossing on KY 222 in front of the Whistle Stop. The truck did not stop and continued west towards US 62. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for any video footage or eye witnesses that can assist in identifying the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Bryan Sallee at 270-765-5133.

E’town Man Arrested on Sex Offenses

Last Friday, Elizabethtown Police arrested and charged a local resident with sex offenses. “Following an investigation conducted by our detectives, Christopher Marshall, age 32, of Elizabethtown was arrested and charged with sodomy in the 3rd degree, rape in the 3rd degree and incest,” stated Public Information Officer Chris Denham. He is currently being held at the Hardin County Detention Center, and is scheduled to appear in Hardin County District Court today.
