Bullitt County Woman Charged with Murder-Domestic Violence

On Sunday night, February 13th, 2022, Bullitt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Elmo Road on reports of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered one female with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, but later died.

An investigation into the shooting has led to the arrest of 25-year-old Megan Ziegler. She is being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center.

At this time, the name of the victim is not being released.

Larue County Inmate Dead from Suicide

On Saturday, February 12th 2022, at approximately 4:39 p.m. the Larue County E911 Center was contacted by the Larue County Detention Center in reference to a male inmate attempting suicide. Units with the Hodgenville Police Department identified the inmate as 27-year-old Dalton Milby, of Buffalo. Milby was pronounced deceased on the scene. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. An autopsy has been scheduled with the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.

NHHS Choir to Present Beauty and the Beast This Weekend

This weekend, the North Hardin High School Choir will present their show, Beauty and the Beast. The show features freshman Anna Vaughan, who has been involved in theater for six years, and has now landed a lead role as Belle. “I’m very excited because Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite musicals and Disney movies, and I get to be one of my favorite Disney princesses,” she stated. Vaughan is eager to finally perform for an audience as the show was originally set for last October. “Because of Covid, we had to push it back. Overall, seeing it all come together now, I feel like the show is going to be so much better and so much more well put together.”

Hardin County Man Arrested on Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

36-year-old Jose Montoya-Velasquez was arrested by Kentucky State Police as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation, which began yesterday.

Montoya-Velasquez is currently charged with four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. He is being lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
