The Nelson County Sheriff’s office made an arrest after a robbery over the weekend.
Deputies responded to the Dollar General on Samuels Road after the call that the business had been robbed at gunpoint. Employees were able to provide a description of the suspect, and the suspect was located on Fairfield Road, where a traffic stop was attempted. The operator failed to stop, and a pursuit began. The pursuit exited Nelson County and went into Anderson county, where Kentucky State Police assisted by deploying spike strips, which caused the vehicle to stop. The operator, 37-year-old Anthony Butler from Georgetown was taken into custody and brought to the Nelson County Sheriff’s office to be interviewed. Butler was charged with robbery, speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, and assault, and was lodged in the LaRue County Jail.
