Nelson County Police Say A Driver Was Traveling East On Balltown Road, When They Allegedly Crossed The Center Line, Striking A Second Vehicle Head On. The Driver Of The First Vehicle Was Entrapped With Life Threatening Injuries And Was Airlifted To University Of Louisville Hospital. The Operator And Passenger Of The Second Car Were Transported To Flaget Hospital By Nelson County Ems. Deputy Ferrie With The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office Is Investigating.

Two People Have Been Indicted For Using Counterfeit Money At An Elizabethtown Restaurant. According To Arrest Records, The Two Left Long John Silvers After Police Responded To A Call About A Counterfeit 100 Dollar Bill. When Police Searched The Pair’s Car, They Found 2 Additional Counterfeit Bills. Both Face Charges Of Criminal Possession Of A Forged Instrument 1st Degree.

A Rineyville Man Was Arrested Last Week After Police Say He Pointed A Gun At A Woman’s Face. According To Arrest Records, Keith Krieger Allegedly Pointed The Gun At The Woman’s Face, Then Turned The Weapon Away To Fire A Shot In The Air. Neighbors Nearby Say They Heard Someone Yelling For Kreiger To Put The Gun Down. Krieger Is Charged With 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment And Was Held In The Hardin County Detention Center.

New Measures Are Being Taken To Stop Out Of Country Scam Calls. Attorney General Andy Beshear Says His Administration Has Returned Over Two Million Dollars To Kentuckians Through His Office Of Senior Protection, But That This Bipartisan Effort Will Seek To Eliminate The Calls Coming Through In The First Place. Americans Received Almost 18 Billion Scam Calls In 2018.

Elizabethtown Police Responded to a violent domestic disturbance on Madison Street early yesterday morning. Officials say 40 year old Cory Lawler of Hodgenville allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. Lawler was said to be intoxicated during the incident and faces multiple charges including attempted arson, assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

A Grayson County man was sentenced after being convicted of child pornography charges. The Department of Justice says 37 year old James Armes was sentenced to 50 years of imprisonment and a lifetime of supervised released, Friday. He was arrested in May of Last year for production, distribution and possession of child pornography. Armes admitted his guilt in court in December. He was previously convicted on another rape charge, which required a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.

Construction work for a major rehabilitation of the US 31 West Bridge near West Point will begin Monday, May 6th.

The Hardin County School District will break ground on two new school buildings next week. The new Lincoln Trail Elementary site will be eight tenths of a mile from the current school on Bardstown Rd. East Hardin Middle School’s new location will be on New Glendale Rd. adjacent to the Kentucky State Police Post. The ceremonies will both be held on May 9th at the location sites. The tentative opening dates for the new facilities will be August 2020.

An Elizabethtown man was arrested and charged with assaulting his father last week. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office says, Brian Young went to his father’s house in White Mills Thursday afternoon to borrow a trailer when a verbal altercation happened. Young was charged with wanton endangerment and criminal mischief.

The Hardin County Chamber of Commerce has expanded their work ethic certification program to include more local schools. Their Golf Scramble for the program is May 24th at the Etown Country Club. Registration information is available at HardinChamber.com

The Larue County Middle School Is Partnering With The Larue County Public Library For Literacy Night, Tomorrow From 5p-m Until 7p-m. Several Student Groups from The School Like The Washing Dc Trip Folks, Beta, And Greenhouse Group Will Have Informative Booths That Recap The School Year For People To Come See. The Come And Go Visiting Is From 5 To 6:30 And From 6:30 To 7, The Library Will Be Advertising Their Summer Teen Programs.

Contract crews will be working along northbound I65 between mile points 91-98 beginning tonight. Traffic will be reduced to one lane between 7pm and 6am tomorrow. All work should be completed by 6am Wednesday.

The suspect in Crystal Rogers’ 2015 disappearance in Bradstown was found not guilty on other charges yesterday. Media sources report that a jury found Brooks Houck not guilty on charges of stealing roofing shingles from a Lowe’s store in Nelson County. The case was tried in Warren County due to his attorney believing he could not have a fair trial in Nelson County. Houck was accused of the theft of more than 200 bundles of shingles. The verdict was announced Thursday afternoon.

The city of Elizabethtown will have a new chief of Police in June. The City Council approved the hiring of Jeremy Thompson at a special called meeting yesterday. Current Chief, Jamie Land, announced in February that he planned to retire June 1st.

The Kentucky State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) are partnering tomorrow to encourage citizens to remove potentially dangerous medicines from their homes and dispose of them safely. The collections will be held at all KSP post across the state from 10am until 2pm.

Kentucky Justice Secretary, John Tilley, spoke at the 2019 RX Drug Abuse and Heroin Summit yesterday about the innovative reforms and initiatives that are underway in Kentucky to lower overdoses and save lives. Programs such as the Kentucky Help Call Center, Local-Option Syringe Exchange Programs, and the new CAN HEAL Project among many more efforts, was his topic of discussion.
