Larue County Fatal Crash

A traffic collision yesterday in Larue County left one dead. Early in the morning on Wednesday, 22 year old Colby Wilder was traveling south on US-31E and for an unknown reason struck the rear of a garbage truck operated by 28 year old Stephen Williams. Wilder was pronounced deceased at the scene, Williams was not injured. The affected portion of US-31E was shut down for several hours to allow troopers to investigate the collision. The investigation is still ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.

EPD Missing Person, Melissa Emerick

Elizabethtown Police are searching for 31 year old Melissa Emerick. Emerick is of diminished capacity and was last seen leaving her residence on June 25, 2021. She is the subject of an EPD missing persons case and is entered in the National Crime Information Center. Anyone who has information about her whereabouts should call 270-765-4125. Hardin County Fair Continues Tonight

There are only three days left to attend the Hardin County Fair. Tonight will kick off with the Youth Dairy Cattle show, followed by the Little Miss and Mister Pageant and will wrap up with the Battle of the Bluegrass Tractor and Truck Pull. Admission is twelve dollars. Quicksie and The Wolf Radio stations are offering a dollar off admission. These coupons can be found on each of the station’s websites or stop by to pick one up.

Boil Water Advisory

Hardin County Water District No. 2 has issued a boil water advisory for a portion of Elizabethtown to include areas surrounding Hwy 62 from Corporate Dr to Elizabethtown High School, areas surrounding Dixie Ave. from Layman Ln. to Bishop Ln., and a portion of Ring Road from West Park Rd. to Western Kentucky Parkway. This advisory was issued as a precautionary measure and can only be lifted with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water.

Customers are advised to boil their water for three (3) minutes at rolling boil. Use only boiled or bottled water for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, and washing dishes.

When water service is restored, thoroughly flush your plumbing. Run cold water only from a bathtub or outside faucet for five minutes and flush the kitchen and bath faucets for three minutes. Do not use chilled water from your refrigerator. When the advisory is lifted, let the chilled water line run for three minutes before drinking the water. Do not use ice from automatic ice machines. When the advisory is lifted, discard two cycles of ice from automatic ice machines.

Vaccine Drive at Metalsa

Metalsa and Baptist Hardin Health are teaming up to provide a vaccine drive this Friday at Metalsa. From 6 in the morning to 12 then 2 to 8. Baptist Hardin Health will be providing a free vaccine to those that want it. No appointment is required, but proof of insurance as well as a valid ID will be required. This will only be happening for one day, June 4th.
