Meade County Man Arrested

A man wanted for multiple felonies in Meade County, Breckinridge County, and Harrison County Indiana was arrested yesterday. Randall Greenwell Jr was on the run since early last week. For more information visit the Meade County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

City of Elizabethtown Approves sale of City Property

The City of Elizabethtown has approved the sale of a property on College Street. The property is located at 226 College Street, it was sold to H.C. Real Estate USA Inc. The real estate arm of Kruger Incorporated. Kruger intends to build apartment buildings with up to 125 units, a community area and a swimming pool. The prospective apartment will be targeted as workforce residences for the Kruger Packaging Plant located in Elizabethtown, however, the apartments will be available to the public. The property was sold for 750,000 dollars.

The City of Elizabethtown Purchased a Property

The city approved the acquisition of a property on Seminole Drive. The property is located at 302 Seminole Drive, in the Indian Hills area of Elizabethtown. The city intends to turn the approximately 3-acre area into a “pocket park”. The property was purchased for 150 thousand dollars.

Two Local Students are Finalists for a National Scholarship Competition

Two local students have been named semifinalists in a national scholar’s program. Community Relations Specialist for The Hardin County School System, John Wright stated, “Central Hardin High School students Anna Hinkle and Jacob Jiranek have been named semifinalists for the 2023 Coca-Cola Scholars Program. They will move to the next round of the selection process to possibly become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college scholarship.” The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate sponsored, achievement based scholarship in the country. This phase will include submission of essays, a recommendation, and a transcript to be reviewed before 250 regional finalists are announced in January. 150 coke scholars will be announced in March, receiving a 20,000-dollar college scholarship and a Coca-Scholars weekend in Atlanta.

Larue County Election Audit

The Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced that 12 randomly selected counties in Kentucky will undergo a post-election audit. It includes one local county: Larue County.  The audit will be conducted by the Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations. The Attorney General stated the purpose of the audit is to protect the integrity of our elections.
