This week we meet Cash, a sweet dog looking for a new furever home. 

Since 2017 we have featured 624 animals and with your help have adopted 618 animals!

The Hardin County Animal Shelter has partnered with Benchmark Family Services to help bring foster kids in their care a better holiday while also helping get pets into forever homes. They’re offering half price on adult dog adoptions when you bring a new children’s toy or gift card value at $20. Pets will still receive their normal vetting including their spay/neuter and microchip. Benchmark has several children ages 5 to 12. Some of the most asked for items include Squishmellows, Hotwheels, Minnie Mouse, and Make-up Kits.

We have adopted out 615 of the 619 pets talked about on the show

Tucker is a 5 year old female great pyrenees that weighs 80 pounds. She is quiet and easy going and loves to meet new people. Tucker has been in the shelter for a month now and is more than eager to find a home where she can get lots of attention.

Beau is a 5 month old grey and white short haired kitten. He is curious, loves toys and plenty of attention. Beau has been with us at the shelter for almost 3 weeks and wait to get a family of his own.

This week we will meet Oliver and Beau two new animals looking for a new furever home.

Since 2017 we have featured 612 animals and with your help have adopted ALL 612 animals!

Hardin County Animal Care and Control will be holding their annual Rabies Clinic on September 28 from 10 am until 2 pm at the Hardin County Fairgrounds Main Pavilion located at 5617 South Dixie Highway in Glendale. Get your cat or dog caught up on their vaccinations, microchip, or license. Cash or Check ONLY. Puppies or kittens under 12 weeks old are unable to receive a rabies vaccination. Please have all dogs on a leash and cats in carriers.

Lots to cover today, let’s start by meeting Lela. Lela is a 1 year old blue and white pittie mix that is super sweet and well behaved. She has great manners, loves people and other dogs and of course enjoys her play time. Lela is the shelters longest resident having been here since mid-June and even represented the shelter pets during the Dirty Dog Bash last month so we just can’t see why this awesome girl is still waiting for her forever home.

The shelter is busting at the seams with more than 80 dogs in care right now so that means its time for their Dog Days of Summer Special. Right now all dogs 5 months and older are free and puppies under 5 months are just $45! They all still receive their normal vetting including spay/neuter, microchip and at least one round of vaccinations. And for those wondering yes we have lots puppies to choose from right now and even a couple smaller dogs. The shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Saturday 12-4pm and is located at 220 Peterson Drive in E-town. Because they are currently so full we do not have an end date for the special at this time.

But you know what we do have a date for – Their biggest rabies clinic of the year happening at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on September 28th from 10am to 2pm. We will be offering discounted vaccinations, microchips and county dog license during this event. We normally see around 400 pets during this clinic so if you are able to fill out a copy of the paperwork in advance you will get through the lines way faster. An advanced copy of the paperwork can be picked up in the office during regular business hours. If you plan on coming to this event please know it is cash or check only All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier for everyone’s safety.
