E’town Council OK’s new body cameras for police department

ELIZABETHTOWN (KY) — What started out as a presentation for body cameras turned into a $500,000 investment for the city of Elizabethtown. The City Council voted Monday night to accept a bid for new body cameras, something councilman Marty Fulkerson says is a worthwhile investment for not only the city, but the residents.

Staff worked to drafter municipal order during the presentation from Chief Thompson and Major Josh Richardson. Fulkerson says the quick action on the issue was because of the council being out of session for the next few weeks.

The council unanimously adopted the order. The bid covers body cameras for all officers as well as their vehicles.

GRAYSON COUNTY (KY) — A woman was killed in an ATV crash in Grayson county over the weekend.

Neither Shawn or his wife were wearing a safety belt, and alcohol was determined to be a factor in the crash. Bryant is charged with Manslaughter 2nd as well as DUI.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
