Ahead of schedule, Baptist Health Hardin officials announced Tuesday that they would begin vaccinations of those 70 and older as part of the Phase 1B plan for the state of Kentucky. As of Tuesday, the healthcare provider offered a phone number for qualified residents to call if they were interested in receiving a vaccine. However, it was noted that callers would experience delays in getting through to a scheduler, as demand for vaccines had increased throughout the day. Higher education officials promoted in-demand career training during a media event Tuesday morning. The state’s work ready program, available at all 16 KCTCS campuses, has seen a surge in promotion the past several months, likely due in part to the state’s unemployment numbers amidst COVID-19
