An Elizabethtown Spa Busted in Human Trafficking Ring

Kentucky State Police say on Wednesday, 07/28/2021, a multi-site law enforcement operation took place at three business locations across Kentucky. Law Enforcement agencies have received complaints and tips related to illegal human trafficking, illegal immigration, promoting prostitution, providing sexual services for compensation, and operating without a license. Agencies involved included the Kentucky State Police, Lexington Police Department, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Search warrant operations were conducted at each location. Customer information was identified. Both State and Federal investigations are ongoing.

Mask Required for Elizabethtown Community and Technical College

Masks will be required to enter Elizabethtown Community and Technical College starting today. 

Announced yesterday by the Kentucky Community and Technical College system, they will require masks inside of their buildings. 

This is the only requirement so far to help aid in the fight against the new delta variant that has emerged. 

All in person classes are expected to happen as planned starting August 16th.

Vaccine Requirement for Baptist Health Hardin Employees

Covid vaccine required for employees working at Baptist Health Hardin. 

Confirmed publicly by Baptist Health Hardin yesterday, all employees will need to be vaccinated by October 31st. 

Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health Hardin, Dennis Johnson, says this move was made based on the fact that 83 percent of their patients are currently unvaccianted. 

Employees will need to have their first dose by mid September.

2 Bodies Found in Ohio River

8/5/21 Brandenburg, KY – Brandenburg Police received a call about 5:00 this morning from the Coast Guard stating that a body was spotted in the Ohio River by a barge. Police Chief Brian Hagg says crews responded to the scene and located the body. During the recovery, a second body was discovered. Chief Hagg said they were assisted by other local agencies in Meade County as well as Indiana Fish & Wildlife. Autopsies are scheduled for tomorrow. No other details have been released.

Ft. Knox Update 8/5/21
