Two people have been identified in a Larue County death investigation. Kentucky State Police say that Nicole Murray of New Haven, 39, and Brittany Wilson of Louisville, 33. Murray is believed to have been killed in a domestic situation at the residence, while Wilson, whose body was found dismembered in a freezer on the premises, was determined to have been killed in Louisville sometime before July 22^nd. The victim inside of the mobile home has yet to be indentified. No further details have been released at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

Diecks Drive in Elizabethtown, which has been closed since earlier this year, has a hopeful timeframe for reopening. Spokesperson Michael Page said in a City Council meeting from this Monday that the potential completion date is slated to be sometime in September. The next step in the process is returning to work on the sanitary sewer main.

Hardin County Schools will be hosting a Facebook Live video tomorrow at 10 A.M. to answer questions regarding back to school season. Hardin County Schools spokesperson John Wright acknowledges that parents with students transitioning from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school will have multiple questions regarding this rather challenging time, and Wright hopes that the video will help answer these questions. The video will also be broadcast at a later time on HCEC-TV.

The Meade County Fair is past the halfway point, but shows no sign of slowing down. Events for tonight include the Garden Tractor Pull, 4-H/FFA Auction, and the Mud Sling. Multiple people are dead following an incident in Larue County yesterday morning. According to Kentucky State Police, officials responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on River Road at around 8 A.M. Upon arrival, officials saw the home engulfed in flames. One victim, a woman, was found dead in a car near the area, and another victim was found later. Trooper Pete Binkley adds that later investigation has led to the discovery of a third body on the premises. This death is believed to be a separate, but related incident, and has led detectives to a residence in Jefferson County. The identities of the victims are being withheld until positive identification is made.

A Hardin County man was arrested Friday after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend while she was driving. According to arrest records, Mikhail Veach and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation when the two got inside the woman’s vehicle. In response, Veach began to strangle her to the point that she couldn’t breathe. Officer John Thomas reports that the victim managed to get to her workplace, and honked the horn until other employees came out and witnessed the assault. Veach has been charged with wanton endangerment as well as assault, and is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

Construction on the new Hardin County Extension Office is nearing completion. Extension Agent Doug Shepherd says the new location is nearly four times the size of the current office, and that the transition to the new location should be complete by August 19^th. Additionally, the new location will include a catering kitchen, sewing project room, and updated technology.

The Elizabethtown Police Department will be hosting Cops and Cones for the second consecutive year. This is an opportunity for the community to come hang out with officers, and have some free ice cream courtesy of Kroger.  This event will be July 25^th, from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Dolphin Drive Kroger in Elizabethtown.
