Bardstown Shooting: One Male Dead

A shooting in Bardstown has left one dead.

Yesterday, Bardstown Police responded to a shots fired run in the 200 block of Camptown Road. They found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was airlifted to the University of Louisville hospital, where he later died.

The identity has not been released pending family notifications.

Park and Ride to Close Next Week

The East Dixie Park and Ride in Elizabethtown will be closed next week, September 13-17, to complete renovations.

“It has been under renovation since June with adding sidewalk and expanding the entrance. Next week, the Park and Ride will be closed to be repaved and finish the project,” says  Elizabethtown City Council member, Amy Inman.

The vacant lot adjacent to the Fire Station #2 will be available for anyone who needs to utilize the parking lot. 

ECTC to Host Remembrance Walk

The Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will host a Remembrance Walk in honor of September 11th.The event will take place outside the Elizabethtown campus’ Fire Rescue Training Center and will include a short ceremony and moment of silence in honor of those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks.

The walk will begin at 11:30 a.m. Those wanting to participate in the one-mile route can start at any campus building. For more information, visit the Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Facebook page. 

Fundraiser to Be Held for Daughter of Hardin County Deputy

In July, the community lost Hardin County Deputy Kevin Johnson, who tragically passed in an ATV accident. This month, Ali’s Army will host a community-wide fundraiser for his daughter. The group is made up of several moms who came together to support each other and Ali.

“Right now, we are trying to raise money for today, tomorrow and her future,” says organizer Melissa Miles.
