On Saturday, February 12th 2022, at approximately 4:39 p.m. the Larue County E911 Center was contacted by the Larue County Detention Center in reference to a male inmate attempting suicide. Units with the Hodgenville Police Department identified the inmate as 27-year-old Dalton Milby, of Buffalo. Milby was pronounced deceased on the scene. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. An autopsy has been scheduled with the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.

This weekend, the North Hardin High School Choir will present their show, Beauty and the Beast. The show features freshman Anna Vaughan, who has been involved in theater for six years, and has now landed a lead role as Belle. “I’m very excited because Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite musicals and Disney movies, and I get to be one of my favorite Disney princesses,” she stated. Vaughan is eager to finally perform for an audience as the show was originally set for last October. “Because of Covid, we had to push it back. Overall, seeing it all come together now, I feel like the show is going to be so much better and so much more well put together.”

36-year-old Jose Montoya-Velasquez was arrested by Kentucky State Police as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation, which began yesterday.
Montoya-Velasquez is currently charged with four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. He is being lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
On Friday, February 4th, the Judicial Nominating Commission announced nominees for the Hardin Family Court Judge. The judicial seat has been vacant since February 1st.
Yesterday, February 8th, Governor Andy Beshear appointed the Honorable Dawn Blair, of Elizabethtown, to the office of Circuit Judge, Family Division 1, for the 9th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky.
A traffic stop on I-65 led to the discovery of more than 100 pounds of marijuana.
Early on Sunday morning, February 7th, Kentucky State Police Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Kia Sorento driving the wrong way on the I-65 southbound exit ramp at the 91 mile-marker. During the vehicle search, approximately 120 pounds of suspected marijuana was located. The operator of the vehicle, 47-year-old Jose Mariano Garcia of Lawrenceville, Georgia was arrested. He is being lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
