An area law enforcement officer is facing charges.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Office says Muldraugh Police Officer Jay R. Burke faces charges of Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving following his arrest Thursday.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the sheriff’s office and the Kentucky State Police were asked by Muldraugh Police Chief Tim Jackson to assist with an investigation into Burke allegedly being impaired while on duty. Burke was arrested and lodged in the Meade County Detention Center as a result of the preliminary investigation.
Burke is scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing in Meade District Court on April 16. The investigation is ongoing.
