A vehicle collision in Hodgenville last week left one dead.
On Thursday afternoon, the Larue County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Bardstown Road (US-31E) and Howardstown Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that James Hayes Jr. of Hodgenville was operating a Ford Fusion and was heading southbound on Bardstown Road. Hayes Jr. crossed into the opposite lane and into the pathway of Jerry Willis of Cox’s Creek, who was operating a Chevrolet Silverado. Both were transported to Baptist Health Hardin. Willis was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Hayes Jr. was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The investigation is still ongoing.
