ELIZABETHTOWN (KY) — What started out as a presentation for body cameras turned into a $500,000 investment for the city of Elizabethtown. The City Council voted Monday night to accept a bid for new body cameras, something councilman Marty Fulkerson says is a worthwhile investment for not only the city, but the residents.
Staff worked to drafter municipal order during the presentation from Chief Thompson and Major Josh Richardson. Fulkerson says the quick action on the issue was because of the council being out of session for the next few weeks.
The council unanimously adopted the order. The bid covers body cameras for all officers as well as their vehicles.
