The victim of a shooting that took place at a Radcliff Wal-Mart on Monday has been identified. Hardin County Coroner Dr. William Lee revealed the man to be Cornelius Tory, 20, of Vine Grove. As previously reported, Tory was killed Monday night by Kendall Lincoln, who shot him eight times with a .45 caliber handgun. Lincoln is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.

A fatal collision and its clearing and reconstruction closed KY 220 and Deckard School Road in Hardin County for over two hours yesterday afternoon. Deputies with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident. Sheriff John Ward reports that there were three vehicles involved. A male driver was transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A female driver was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital, and then the University of Louisville Hospital with her injuries, and a third driver was not injured. Names of those involved have not been released pending family notification.

Presbyterian Homes and Services of Kentucky held a special groundbreaking ceremony yesterday afternoon for Presbyterian Homes Helmwood in Elizabethtown. The new addition will be called the Elizabeth Sanford Swope Personal Care Unit, and will feature seventeen private units, an open concept community gathering area and more. The facility is located at 106 Diecks Drive.

The City of Vine Grove will be kicking off a three day Christmas celebration with a chili supper and auction tonight. The event will be held in the Community Room at City Hall from 5 PM to 8 PM. Other events include Light Up Downtown and Dickens of a Christmas on Friday night. The Vine Grove Women’s Club will host a breakfast with Mrs. Claus on Saturday morning from 9 AM to noon at Vine Grove Elementary school.

The Central Kentucky Rods and Machines Car Club held their 34th Annual Christmas for the Kids Car Show over the Thanksgiving weekend. The money collected over the three day event will go towards Christmas shopping for kids in need. The club is in need of shopping helpers for their shopping trip happening tomorrow.
