The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a possible car theft suspect. According to the department, a vehicle was left abandoned in the median of Bluegrass Parkway around the sixteen-mile marker on Friday. Upon officer’s arrival, there was no one around the vehicle and the driver’s side front tire was blown out. Officers ran the vehicle and it came back stolen, reportedly on December 9th, to the Louisville Metro Police Department. No one was found walking in the immediate area. If there is any information regarding a stranded motorist that was given a ride, please contact the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.
Hardin County Schools has announce their pre-school and kindergarten early registration dates for the 2020-2021 school year. The registration will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2020 between 9 AM and 2 PM at all elementary schools except Meadow View, Radcliff, Woodland, and Vine Grove, which will take place at North Park Elementary. Children who will be five years of age on or before August 1st, 2020 are eligible for kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Work on the Cardinal Drive realignment project in Elizabethtown will include closing a portion of Woodland Drive behind Hardin Memorial Hospital later this week. According to the Department of Transportation, construction on the new connection at the US 31W and Diecks Drive traffic signal will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, December 18 and 19, with closure starting at approximately 8 AM on Wednesday. Traffic to the hospital emergency room will still be accessible via Cardinal Drive, as it always has been. No specific detour will be utilized for this work, and signs and message boards will be placed to identify the change to any traffic pattern.
Helping Hand of Hope will be hosting their turkey and ham giveaway tomorrow from 10 AM until 3 PM. Those picking up an item must provide a valid photo ID. There will be a limit of one per household, and there will be no choices, as all participants will be given one or the other. The giveaway is open to anyone in Hardin County while supplies last. This will be a drive through event, and items will only be given out in the parking lot, not inside.
