More information has come forward regarding the shoplifters at Kroger on Dolphin Drive. According to the Elizabethtown Police Department, the five suspects have been identified as Kimberly Coffer of Nevada, and Antoinette Avant, Jocelyn Jackson, Elena Rios, and Kanisha Price, all of Illinois. The total value of items stolen by the crew is over $25,000. During the investigation, officers learned that some of the individuals had used multiple aliases during previous court appearances. Officer Chris Denham had one simple message for the suspects, and any others who may try their hand at shoplifting, stating, “If you come to Elizabethtown and steal from our business or our citizens, we will arrest you and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The Elizabethtown Planning Commission met on Tuesday and discussed several potential building projects for the future. There were preliminary plans set in place for a truck stop owned by RaceTrac Petroleum to be put at East Dixie and Lincoln Parkway. The facility will include spots for trucks to park overnight, but will not include repair facilities for the trucks or showers for drivers. Also discussed were plans for the future of the former McDonalds building at 900 North Mulberry Street, which will become a Dollar General, replacing the location already in existence on North Mulberry.
The Radcliff Veterans Center has been working on an artistic project with some of the residents. The residents, as well as staff and musical professionals, have written and recorded twelve songs. A record was made of the songs, and the album launch concert is scheduled for February 22nd, 2020.
Nolin RECC is now accepting applications for the Washington Youth Tour. Five high school juniors whose parents receive electrical service through Nolin will spend June 19th through the 25th touring various landmarks in Washington D.C. The five youth that are selected this year will join more than 1,500 students and over 250 chaperones from cooperatives around the country. More details can be found by calling the Nolin office.
