A HARDIN COUNTY MAN WHO WAS SHOT AFTER ALLEGEDLY FLEEING A TRAFFIC STOP HAS FILED SUIT AGAINST THE DEPUTY WHO SHOT HIM. ACCORDING TO THE LAWSUIT, RONALD CHOWNING CLAIMS THAT HARDIN COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTY HENRY VOLENTINE ENGAGED IN UNREASONABLE AND EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN HE FIRED HIS WEAPON AT CHOWNING LAST JULY, STRIKING HIM IN THE SHOULDER. HARDIN COUNTY SHERIFF JOHN WARD IS ALSO NAMED IN THE SUIT. THE DOCUMENT WAS FILED EARLIER THIS WEEK.
