A WOMAN KIDNAPPED IN TENNESSEE WAS FOUND IN GRAYSON COUNTY.  THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SAYS BYRON CONLEY LURED THE FEMALE AND SOUGHT RANSOM FROM HER PARENTS.  CONLEY IS ACCUSED OF SENDING A PROOF OF LIFE PHOTO OF THE VICTIM AND DEMANDING MONEY OR HE WOULD SELL, RAPE AND KILL HER.  AGENTS LOCATED CONLEY AS HE PICKED UP THE RANSOM IN OAK GROVE, KENTUCKY. INVESTIGATORS FOLLOWED HIM UNTIL HE STOPPED AT A GAS STATION IN LEITCHFIELD.  THE VICTIM WAS LOCATED INSIDE OF CONLEY’S CAR. CONLEY WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH THREATENING INTERSTATE COMMUNICATION. A PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED TODAY IN OWENSBORO.

THE VINE GROVE POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ASKING FOR HELP LOCATING A WANTED PERSON. OFFICIALS POSTED INFORMATION ABOUT JOSEPH BURCH ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE YESTERDAY. ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT.

MORE DETAILS HAVE BEEN RELEASED AFTER A GRAYSON COUNTY MAN WAS FOUND DEAD LAST WEEK. SHERIFF NORMAN CHAFFIN SAYS 57 YEAR OLD MICHAEL WILLIAMS DIED AS A RESULT OF FALLING OFF A CLIFF NEAR HIS HOME. AUTOPSY RESULTS ALSO INDICATED THAT WILLIAMS WAS SUFFERING FROM ENVIRONMENTAL HYPOTHERMIA. FOUL PLAY HAS NOT BEEN RULED OUT AND THE INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING.

THE HARDIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDED TO A BURGLARY AT A VINE GROVE HOME EARLIER THIS WEEK. SHERIFF JOHN WARD SAID 30 YEAR OLD DONOVAN BOWSHIER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE CASE WHO FLED THE SCENE IS ASKED TO CONTACT LAW ENFORCEMENT.

THE LARUE COUNTY EXTENSION COUNCIL RECENTLY HONORED TWO MEN IN THEIR ANNUAL EXTENSION LEADERSHIP BANQUET. JOHN BALL IS THE CURRENT 4-H COUNCIL PRESIDENT AND TRUEMAN EBLEND IS A FOUNDER FOR THE BEEF PRODUCER ASSOCIATION IN LARUE COUNTY.

CONSTRUCTION TO THE BEWLEY HOLLOW ROADS BRIDGE OVER MILL CREEK IS FACING DELAYS. THE CONTRACTOR ESTIMATES THAT THE BRIDGE WILL TAKE ONE TO TWO MORE WEEKS TO COMPLETE DEPENDING ON WEATHER CONDITIONS.

THE ELIZABETHTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT HAVE ARRESTED TWO MEN FOR ATTEMPTING TO USE A STOLEN DEBIT CARD. AUTHORITIES SAY WILLY WALKER AND ZACHARY JUSTE TRIED TO USE A FORGED DEBIT CARD FOR $2,900 DOLLARS AT KROGER ON TOWNE DRIVE. WALKER AND JUSTE BOTH HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT, SECOND DEGREE AND POSSESSION OF FORGERY DEVICE.

HARDIN COUNTY SCHOOLS HAVE ANNOUNCED THEIR EXCEL AWARD WINNER. KIM CROWDER, A KINDERGARTEN TEACHER AT CECILIA VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WAS NAMED THIS WEEK. CROWDER WILL BE HONORED AT A CELEBRATION ON FEBRUARY 27 AT CECILIA VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

THE HARDIN COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER IS ADVISING PET OWNERS OF TIPS TO KEEP ANIMALS SAFE WHILE COLDER TEMPERATURES AFFECT THE AREA. DIRECTOR MIKE MCNUTT ALSO SAID PETS SHOULD BE FED MORE AS COLDER TEMPERATURES CAUSE THEM TO BURN MORE CALORIES. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL TO THE SINGLE DIGITS TODAY.

A HARDIN COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP LEAD TO DRUG ARREST OVER THE WEEKEND.  KENTUCKY STATE POLICE SAY A TROOPER STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR SPEEDING ON I-65 SUNDAY AFTERNOON. DUNNAWAY FACES OTHER CHARGES. HIS PASSENGER 26 YEAR OLD ADRIA SHOUSE WAS ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

THE SUSPECT IN AN ELIZABETHTOWN HOMICIDE IS SET TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY (TUESDAY). A PRETRIAL CONFERENCE IS SCHEDULED FOR CHARLES ROBERSON JR IN HARDIN CIRCUIT COURT. AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED ROBERSON WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR THE SHOOTING DEATH OF XEDRIC MCNEIL IN FEBRUARY OF LAST YEAR. ACCORDING TO ARREST RECORDS, ROBERSON AND MCNEIL GOT INTO A VERBAL ALTERCATION AT A RESIDENCE ON DIECKS DRIVE. OFFICIALS SAY THE TWO WENT OUTSIDE WHERE THE ARGUMENT CONTINUED. ROBERSON ALLEGEDLY PULLED OUT A GUN SHOOTING MCNEIL AT LEAST ONCE IN THE CHEST. POLICE SAY ROBERSON THEN CONTINUED FIRING THE WEAPON AS MCNEIL ATTEMPTED TO RUN. ROBERSON IS REPORTED TO HAVE STRUCK AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE INCIDENT. HE FACES MURDER AND WANTON ENDANGERMENT CHARGES.

AN EXHIBIT OF HOLOCAUST MURALS WILL COME TO ELIZABETHTOWN COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE IN THE COMING WEEKS. THE CENTRAL KENTUCKY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SAID THEIR BENJAMIN FUND MADE THE EVENT POSSIBLE. THE EXHIBIT WILL BE ON DISPLAY FROM FEBRUARY 25 UNTIL APRIL 5TH IN THE MORRISON GALLERY IN THE COLLEGE’S JSO BUILDING.

An Alabama man charged with attempted murder in Nelson County over the weekend was shot by police. The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a robbery at 2:00 Saturday morning where they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the head. Kentucky state police later located 35 year old Justin Robert Hardin on the Bluegrass Parkway. Trooper Scotty Sharp says Hardin refused to obey the commands of the troopers and was shot in the leg. He faces numerous charges including 2 counts of attempted murder.

The body of a missing Grayson County man was found over the weekend. The sheriff’s office says 57 year old Michael Kerry Williams was located over a bluff near Foxwood circle road before 1 pm on Saturday. Williams had not been seen since January 13. His body has been sent to Jefferson County for an autopsy. No other details have been released.

With colder temperatures expected this week, Hardin County schools officials are advising of procedures they use to determine whether or not to cancel school. More information can be found on the district’s website.
