A HARDIN COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP LEAD TO DRUG ARREST OVER THE WEEKEND.  KENTUCKY STATE POLICE SAY A TROOPER STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR SPEEDING ON I-65 SUNDAY AFTERNOON. DUNNAWAY FACES OTHER CHARGES. HIS PASSENGER 26 YEAR OLD ADRIA SHOUSE WAS ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

THE SUSPECT IN AN ELIZABETHTOWN HOMICIDE IS SET TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY (TUESDAY). A PRETRIAL CONFERENCE IS SCHEDULED FOR CHARLES ROBERSON JR IN HARDIN CIRCUIT COURT. AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED ROBERSON WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR THE SHOOTING DEATH OF XEDRIC MCNEIL IN FEBRUARY OF LAST YEAR. ACCORDING TO ARREST RECORDS, ROBERSON AND MCNEIL GOT INTO A VERBAL ALTERCATION AT A RESIDENCE ON DIECKS DRIVE. OFFICIALS SAY THE TWO WENT OUTSIDE WHERE THE ARGUMENT CONTINUED. ROBERSON ALLEGEDLY PULLED OUT A GUN SHOOTING MCNEIL AT LEAST ONCE IN THE CHEST. POLICE SAY ROBERSON THEN CONTINUED FIRING THE WEAPON AS MCNEIL ATTEMPTED TO RUN. ROBERSON IS REPORTED TO HAVE STRUCK AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE INCIDENT. HE FACES MURDER AND WANTON ENDANGERMENT CHARGES.

AN EXHIBIT OF HOLOCAUST MURALS WILL COME TO ELIZABETHTOWN COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE IN THE COMING WEEKS. THE CENTRAL KENTUCKY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SAID THEIR BENJAMIN FUND MADE THE EVENT POSSIBLE. THE EXHIBIT WILL BE ON DISPLAY FROM FEBRUARY 25 UNTIL APRIL 5TH IN THE MORRISON GALLERY IN THE COLLEGE’S JSO BUILDING.

An Alabama man charged with attempted murder in Nelson County over the weekend was shot by police. The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a robbery at 2:00 Saturday morning where they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the head. Kentucky state police later located 35 year old Justin Robert Hardin on the Bluegrass Parkway. Trooper Scotty Sharp says Hardin refused to obey the commands of the troopers and was shot in the leg. He faces numerous charges including 2 counts of attempted murder.

The body of a missing Grayson County man was found over the weekend. The sheriff’s office says 57 year old Michael Kerry Williams was located over a bluff near Foxwood circle road before 1 pm on Saturday. Williams had not been seen since January 13. His body has been sent to Jefferson County for an autopsy. No other details have been released.

With colder temperatures expected this week, Hardin County schools officials are advising of procedures they use to determine whether or not to cancel school. More information can be found on the district’s website.

Volunteers of America are looking for volunteers to help total the homeless population in Elizabethtown this week. The event takes place on January 30. For more information contact the organization.

The murder trial of a Hardin County man continued yesterday (Thursday). The jury saw body camera footage from the night police say Bernard Williams was shot and killed by Timothy Hargroves. Officers testified that Williams was shot 4 times after Hargroves fired 6 shots into his residence in November 2017. Authorities also say after the shooting Hargroves 2 year old daughter was left alone in Williams residence. The trial continues this morning.

Fort Knox will host a unique retirement ceremony today. Cheyenne a military working dog will retire with other soldiers this afternoon.
The event begins at 3 pm at Waybur Theater and is open to the public.

A Central Hardin high school student earned a spot in the u.S. Presidential scholars program. Garret Ashlock was named this week. This marks the 54th year for this scholars program.

The murder trial of a Radcliff man began in Hardin circuit court yesterday. Opening statements took place in the case against Timothy Hargroves. As previously reported, Hargroves is accused of the shooting death of Bernard Williams in late 2017. Authorities say Hargroves got into a verbal altercation with the mother of his child before shooting her and Williams. The trial continues this week.

Elizabethtown’s vibe coffee has plans on opening at a second location.
The new location which will be in downtown Hodgenville does not have a set open date, but you can follow their progress on their facebook page.

Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland had a record breaking end to 2018. Over one million pounds of food was donated in December. To volunteer contact the organization.

Three people have been charged after a Grayson County man was murdered earlier this month. The Ohio county sheriff confirmed that Adam Lacefield, Wanda Ferguson, mandy decker were taken into custody after 59 year old Johnnie Hayes was found deceased. As previously reported, Hayes and Ferguson were shot on Richland road as they followed two burglars off his property in November. In December authorities say a bomb was found in a barn on the property. This incident remains under investigation.

The Senate plans to vote today on proposed legislation that could reopen the government. Senator Mitch McConnell spoke on the measure yesterday. The 34 day shutdown is the longest in us history.

A Hardin County murder trial is set to begin this morning. Jury selection in the case against Timothy Hargroves is set to begin this morning. We spoke with officials after they were called to a domestic incident in Radcliff in 2017. Bernard Williams was later identified as the victim of the shooting. The case was continued several times after a competency hearing was ordered last year.

Lincoln Trail Health Department officials say numbers for Hepatitis A are going down across the area. Spokesperson Sara Jo Best said those who had vaccinations over the summer may be due to have a second set. More details can be found by contacting the health department.

Officials on Fort Knox say renovations to the Patton Museum will take longer than expected. As previously reported, the facility closed last month for work that was not completed over the summer. The museum is expected to reopen April 16.

Kentuckyone Health has a new name. Officials in Bardstown say Flaget Memorial Hospital is part of the group that will now be called CHI St Joseph. Kentuckyone Health is in the process of transitioning ownership of it’s Louisville hospitals to focus on central and eastern Kentucky.

John Hardin high school’s winning streak continues. The team won 90 to 25 against Fort Knox last night. The team faces Scott high school on Saturday night.
