One Dead in Fatal Crash on U.S. 60.

The Kentucky State Police responded to a fatal two car collision on Monday in Hardinsburg. 48 year Daniella Zuelly of Tell City Indiana was entering the intersection of US 60 and Old Highway 60, when she crossed the path of a commercial vehicle traveling southbound. The commercial vehicle was operated by 62 year old Philip Wertz of Zephyrhills Florida. Zulley was transported to the University of Louisville where she later died from her injuries. The investigation is still ongoing.

Eligible Veterans can Receive Vouchers for Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is beginning their Senior Veterans Farmers Market Nutrition program today. The program helps veterans to receive vouchers for their local farmers market. 

There are certain qualifications that must be met to be eligible for this program. These qualifications can be found on the Kentucky Department of Agriculture website, KYAGR.com

These vouchers allow veterans to receive fresh fruits and vegetables and herbs. Vouchers are good until September. 

To register for these vouchers, simply stop by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture table that will be set up  at the farmers market in Elizabethtown. They will be set up Wednesday from 9 to 12, and Saturday from 7 to 12.

James T. Alton Welcomes Lewis as Interim Principal

James T. Alton will head into the new school year under new interim principal Jennifer Lewis. Previous principal Kevin Estes resigned late last month to become the new chief academic officer for Ballard County Schools.

Lewis brings prior experience with the Hardin County schools including more than 11 years as the principal at Lincoln Trail Elementary. She also taught at Bluegrass Middle School, and was the principal at G.C. Burkhead. 

Mrs. Lewis will serve in the interim role until Hardin County Schools Superintendent Teresa Morgan can meet with the school’s Site-based Decision Making Council.
