Traffic Update for U.S. 31W Project

Intersection closures will be taking place along southbound US 31W each night this week.

These intersections will be affected: Ring Road, Walmart Drive, Starlite Center, Starlite Drive/Towne Drive, and Childres Court.

Work will begin tonight (Monday) through Friday between 9pm and 6am.

Walmart Drive and Ring Road will be not be closed at the same time.

Elizabethtown High School Alum Competing in Olympics.

The long anticipated Tokyo Olympics are finally in full swing, and one Elizabethtown high school alum will be competing for gold.

Jada Stinson will represent Puerto Rico in women’s basketball. Stinson attended Elizabethtown high school from 2013 to 2017.

While there, Stinson was a stand-out athlete, playing in more than 130 games. She was awarded player of the game over 20 times throughout her high school career.

Stinson will get to compete in the sport she loves most on the biggest stage. She is overwhelmed with joy to compete for a country that is full of pride and love. 

ECTC to be Given $50,000 From the Band Metallica.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical college was one of a select few to receive $50,000 from Metallica’s scholars initiative. 

The initiative is funded by the band Metallica’s All Within My Hands program, a program that serves as a means to invest in communities to help them be sustainable. The program helps support students, causes to end hunger, and other critical local services. 

The new funding will provide scholarships to truck driving students in the college’s workforce solutions commercial driver’s license program as well as students in advanced manufacturing programs.
