ECTC to Add New Program.

A new program is set to start this fall at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. The Production Technician Program is for those interested in starting high-demand careers in manufacturing. Students will study blueprint reading, control charts, safety and lean operations, among other topics.

A Vehicle License Plate Attached with an Eye Bolt Led to Several Arrests in Nelson County 

Nelson county sheriff Ramon Pineiroa says that Deputy Aubrey was conducting another investigation, when he noticed a Honda Civic with Ohio license plates being held on with eye bolts. 

The car was identified to be stolen out of Ohio during a traffic stop, a subsequent investigation revealed that half an ounce of meth was in the hotel that they were staying at.  

The vehicle was occupied by Matthew Jones and Summer Lowery of Ohio. Both are being lodged in the Nelson County jail on multiple charges. The investigation is still ongoing.

Bodies Found In Ohio River Identified.

Two bodies found in the Ohio River last week have been identified. 

40 year old female Billie Gardener of Rhodelia Kentucky and 46 year old male Kevin Wardrip of Battletown Kentucky were found by two barge workers last week.

The investigation was originally started by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources due to reports of a boat adrift last Tuesday.   

Further information is pending on the results of the autopsy.

Grayson County Man Calls Emergency Services, Refuses Treatment, Leads to Felony Charges. 

 On Sunday morning the Grayson county Sheriff’s office responded to a call put out by the Grayson County Emergency Medical Service about a man refusing to cooperate. 

61 year old Dennis Embry of Falls of Rough reportedly called 911 claiming he had breathing problems and chest pain. 

When EMS arrived he was allegedly being uncooperative and was armed, to assist with the call the Sheriff’s Office came out to help.    

Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins says that when his deputy arrived, he noticed the individual was under the influence of drugs. 

The decision was made to put him under arrest for harassing communications. This led to a search where Methamphetamines and Marijuana was discovered on his person. 

Further investigations revealed that he was in possession of a stolen handgun from Campbellsburg.   

He is currently residing in the Grayson County Detention Center. The investigation is still ongoing.
