Hardin County Shredding & Text Updates

Hardin County Solid Waste Coordinator Stephanie Givens explains the shredding event that happens monthly at the county road department located at 501 Bacon Creek Road, Elizabethtown. Givens also talked about the county’s text updates available for citizens.

Kentucky’s First Narcan Vending Machine

The state’s first Narcan vending machine has come to the area. Chief of Police of the Vine Grove Police Department Kenneth Mattingly stated, “The machine is located here at the Vine Grove Police Department. Basically, the machine holds about 90 two dose boxes of Narcan. So, anyone who needs Narcan or preparing for someone who might be in crisis or has an addiction issue, they can come and get a dose and keep it in their house, keep it in their bathroom and that way if they need it, it will be available to them. Sale of the Old Courthouse

The sale of the old courthouse building in Downtown Elizabethtown has been approved. Weyland Ventures is purchasing the property for six hundred and ninety thousand with plans to turn it into a boutique hotel with a restaurant and bar located inside. Partner in the Elizabethtown Renaissance Associates, Ben Larue stated, “the county attorney’s space needs to be fixed first, so she’ll be moving out, probably in December or so and we will start renovations sometime next year.”  The renovations are estimated to cost 8 million dollars and are expected to take a year.
