Grayson County: Red Ribbon Week

Grayson County has dubbed next week Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week serves as a reminder that everyday Americans make significant daily contributions because they live drug free. Elizabethtown Police Department Food Drive

The Elizabethtown Police Department is hosting a food drive. Public information officer Chris Denham stated, “In partnership with Central Valley Feed the Homeless, we are hosting a food drive in support of their efforts. As part of their mission, Central Valley Feed the Homeless facilitates a safe return for displaced individuals back to their region of origin. They also provide individuals with nonperishable food items to sustain them during their travels. A collection bin will be located inside the lobby of the Police Department until November the 2nd. They will also be collecting monetary donations in support of the efforts. Instructions for Absentee Voting

The last day to request an absentee mail in ballot is coming up next week. Hardin county clerk Debbie Donnelly stated, “the mailed excused that you apply for online ends October the 25th, that is next Tuesday at 11:59 PM.” Following the mail in deadline, traditional absentee voting registration will begin. Donnelly continued, “The 26th will start the in-house excused absentee ballot, and what you will do is come to the clerk’s office from 7:45 AM until 4:30 PM and that is excused like the mail in ballots are. Elizabethtown High School Student Hit by Car

An Elizabethtown High School Student was hit by a car yesterday. The student was crossing US-62 when they were struck by the car, according to the Elizabethtown Independent School District. The student was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The school wants to remind the public to abide by school zone speeds and watch for students.

Larue County Man Charged with Murder

A Larue County man was arrested for murder yesterday. Thirty-six-year-old Joshua Woolford was arrested for the murder of his wife.  In June of 2019, Kentucky State Police responded to a house fire, identifying a deceased, Chasidy Woolford in the residence. He is currently being lodged at the Larue County Detention Center.
