Boil Water Advisory

Hardin County Water District No. 2 has issued a boil water advisory for a portion of Elizabethtown to include areas surrounding Hwy 62 from Corporate Dr to Elizabethtown High School, areas surrounding Dixie Ave. from Layman Ln. to Bishop Ln., and a portion of Ring Road from West Park Rd. to Western Kentucky Parkway. For a detailed map, please visit Hardin County Water District No. 2’s website at www.HCWD2.org.

This advisory was issued as a precautionary measure and can only be lifted with the approval of the Kentucky Division of Water.

Customers are advised to boil their water for three (3) minutes at rolling boil. Use only boiled or bottled water for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, and washing dishes.

When water service is restored, thoroughly flush your plumbing. Run cold water only from a bathtub or outside faucet for five minutes and flush the kitchen and bath faucets for three minutes. Do not use chilled water from your refrigerator. When the advisory is lifted, let the chilled water line run for three minutes before drinking the water. Do not use ice from automatic ice machines. When the advisory is lifted, discard two cycles of ice from automatic ice machines.
