HCSO: Rineyville man arrested in connection to burglary

The Hardin County Sheriff’s office arrested a Rineyville man who was allegedly involved in a burglary last Friday.

According to arrest citations, on September 16th, deputies responded to Rineyville Big Springs Road in reference to a vehicle that had been broken into. The vehicle had all four windows broken, the windshield cracked, and other damage done, exceeding $1,000 in damage. A smartech auto care pack was reported missing. Later, deputies responded to a residence further down the same road, where forced entry into the residence was made. Several items including knives, firearms, and a Yamaha ATV were reported missing. Deputies identified Lane Ashley as a suspect, as he had allegedly pawned one of the stolen knives. Deputies responded to Ashley’s residence, detaining him and transporting him to Hardin County Sheriff’s office. Ashley initially denied involvement in the burglary, but later admitted to his part in it, stating he was lookout for an accomplice. A search warrant at Ashley’s residence uncovered a revolver stolen from the second residence, and the Smartech pack and other items identified as belonging to the Pontiac owner, as well as marijuana and digital scales. Ashley admitted to breaking the windows of the Pontiac.

Ashley was charged with two separate cases of burglary, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property, as well as drug related offenses. He was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
