    Description:
The Sunnyside Master Gardeners host their third annual Tomato Festival on Sunday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The festival will be held at the Purdue Technology Center, 3000 Technology Ave. New Albany, IN. The event is free to the public and geared for the whole family.

Booths will provide information about gardening, with Master Gardeners ready to answer questions about your garden pests and challenges. The Tomato Festival will also feature tomato games and activities. Learn little known facts about tomatoes, enjoy taste testing 12 varieties of tomatoes, get recipe ideas, and enter the tomato growing contest.  Bring your biggest or your weirdest tomato and maybe win a certificate and bragging rights!

Back again is the Little Shop of Garden Goods, with crafts and gardening materials of all kinds available. Check out our popular Tomato Festival Cookbook with recipes for every kind of tomato dish you can imagine (even cake!) and Cruciferous Cookbook and Garden Guide, focused on heart-healthy veggies like kale, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, greens of every sort, plus many more.  New this year is the Cucurbit Cookbook and Garden Guide, focused on squash, melon, and pumpkin.  Visitors can also purchase home-grown produce and snacks such as chips/salsa and sundaes (cash, Zelle, Venmo, or check only).
