KSP: Bowling Green man fled police after attempted traffic stop

HARDIN COUNTY (KY) — A Bowling Green man lead KSP on a brief pursuit over the weekend.

According to arrest citations, a traffic stop was attempted on Reginald Buchanan due to an expired license plate, however, the vehicle refused to pull over. Buchanan, driving on I-65, exited at the 105 mile marker and pulled into a Speedway gas station. Buchanan allegedly tossed two clear baggies out of the window, and then accelerated at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued, with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. During the pursuit, Trooper say Buchanan tossed another baggie out of the window. Eventually, the subject pulled into another gas station, and was apprehended with no further incident. A search of the vehicle revealed what Troopers believes to be marijuana buds, white residue, cut baggies, and an oxycodone pill.

Buchanan faces several drug and traffic related charges, including reckless driving and fleeing or evading police, and was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
