Two people have died after a wreck in Elizabethtown yesterday afternoon. Officials responded to reports of a wreck involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle near the intersection of Ring Road and South Dixie Highway Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the truck was unharmed, but the driver and passenger of the motorcycle died as a result of the incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Authorities in Grayson County are searching for a missing woman. The sheriff’s office says they responded to the Peonia Road area Monday afternoon looking for a 50-year-old female. Sheriff Norman Chaffins says that while initial reports indicated she may have jumped off of a bridge, they no longer believe that based on gathered information. Authorities have not released the identity of the female. No other details are available at this time.

Fire crews in Elizabethtown rescued a man from a burning structure yesterday. Crews responded to an apartment on Princeton Drive just after 11:00 Tuesday morning. The man who was saved from the burning building was unresponsive and was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital, and was later transported to University of Louisville Hospital. The fire was determined to have started in the garage, and officials say the cause appears to be accidental.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office has located a stolen vehicle that had been reported missing on August 7th. The Chevrolet Traverse was spotted in Shelby County with four suspects inside, later identified as William West, Beverly Lester, Brittany Sellards, and Lauren Powell. A truck and trailer stolen from Louisville were also found during the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and multiple charges are pending.

Power of the Purse, an event to help childhood literacy programs, will take place August 17th from 6-10 PM. Tickets are on sale now, with general admission tickets selling for $50.
