ELIZABETHTOWN INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS WERE ON A SOFT LOCKDOWN YESTERDAY. OFFICIALS SENT OUT A ONE CALL BEFORE 9AM WEDNESDAY SAYING THAT A HOME NEAR THE SCHOOL HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO AND THAT THE SUSPECT HAD NOT BEEN APPREHENDED. THE LOCKDOWN WAS IN PLACE UNTIL JUST BEFORE 3PM YESTERDAY. NO OTHER INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED AT THIS TIME.

HARDIN MEMORIAL HEALTH IS CELEBRATING 65 YEARS. MAYOR JEFF GREGORY RECOGNIZED THE ORGANIZATION BY PROCLAIMING TODAY HARDIN MEMORIAL HEALTH DAY.  THE HOSPITAL FIRST OPENED FEBRUARY 14, 1954.

THE CENTRAL KENTUCKY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WILL HOST A SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION WORKSHOP IN THE COMING WEEKS. THE ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED SCHOLARSHIP CENTRAL EARLIER THIS YEAR. HE EVENT TAKES PLACE MARCH 25TH. SCHOLARSHIPS CAN BE APPLIED FOR ON THE ORGANIZATION’S WEBSITE.

THE KENTUCKY STATE POLICE IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY. THE ACADEMY BEGINS MARCH 12.

A RADCLIFF MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING HIS GIRLFRIEND. AUTHORITIES SAY 18 YEAR OLD KENTREL CROMWELL WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON TUESDAY AFTER POLICE SAY HE DRUG THE WOMAN TO THE GROUND BEFORE CHOKING HER TO THE POINT OF UNCONSCIOUSNESS AND STOMPING ON HER FACE MULTIPLE TIMES. IN ADDITION, POLICE SAY CROMWELL WAS IN POSSESSION OF KEYS TO A STOLEN VEHICLE. HE FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING WANTON ENDANGERMENT AND WAS HELD IN THE HARDIN COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ON A 15 THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND.
