OFFICIALS RESPONDED TO A SWIFT WATER RESCUE YESTERDAY. OFFICIALS SAY THE INCIDENT HAPPENED IN THE 400 BLOCK OF BOONE ROAD EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CHARGED IN THE OVERDOSE DEATH OF A SHEPHERDSVILLE MAN. THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THAT 27 YEAR OLD AARON SHELTON AND 18 YEAR OLD TAJUAN MCDOWELL WERE INDICTED WITH POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. IN ADDITION, SHELTON FACES A CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY TO DISTRIBUTE HEROIN CAUSING DEATH. AUTHORITIES SAY POLICE RESPONDED TO A HOME IN SHEPHERDSVILLE ON FEBRUARY 2 WHERE THE VICTIM WHO HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED WAS FOUND DECEASED ALONG WITH SUSPECTED HEROIN. THROUGH INVESTIGATION, POLICE IDENTIFIED SHELTON AND MCDOWELL. BOTH FACE A MANDATORY MINIMUM SENTENCE OF 20 YEARS IN PRISON. THEY WERE HELD IN FEDERAL CUSTODY.
